7 Essential Oils To Help You Tap Into Your Purpose!

Updated: Sep 3

Purpose and spirituality are important components to healing, and especially in cancer recovery.

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know that AwakenCARE approaches the healing process from three angles: the mind, the body, and spirit. We address all three points together for the most potent and rewarding healing process possible.

As our final installment to the essential oils series, I want to address how essential oils can lend themselves to healing the spirit. My hope is that you take these oil suggestions and find what works best for you in your personal journey.

Essential oils are unique for each person based on your needs, so formulas that work for some, might not work for others. This is about learning to trust your internal physician and learning to listen to what your body is asking for.

Here are my top seven favorite essential oils to help you tap into your purpose! These are all safe to use topically and aromatically:

1. Geranium

This is an oil of self-trust. We have studies that show it helps with reducing anxiety, stress, and fatigue, as well as balancing out hormones. Geranium also helps release anger and overwhelm so you can move past these strong emotions. Many apply it to the third eye (the spot between your eyes) to help tap into the deeper center of our brains.

2. Hawaiian Sandalwood

Hawaiian sandalwood is known as the oil of introspection and honesty. It allows us to tap into our truth rather than living by the truth of those around us. Apply this oil to the third eye, the back of the neck, or over the heart.

3. Citronella

The oil that clears self-doubt. There was a study done that looked at heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and an EEG before and after using citronella and all showed improvements. From an emotional standpoint, this oil helps bring everything into harmony and can be powerful in helping you discover what feels right for you.

4. Roman Chamomile

The oil of spiritual purpose. There are stories that tell of the Roman soldiers who would apply this for courage and moving past fear to fulfill their purpose. I love this oil for helping move past the mundane of life to find greater fulfillment. Apply over the heart and the third eye.

5. Blue Tansy

Blue tansy is the oil of inspired action. It helps you connect to your place of purpose. It’s an energizing and grounding oil that helps you tap into peaceful energy and really drives home the focus of a purposeful life.

6. Copaiba

The oil of unveiling. Think about the expectations you have in life - copaiba can help you move past those expectations so you can ask what you want for yourself and what you were created for. This oil can help you become clear and thoughtfully aware and approach life without judgement or negativity. Apply to the crown of your head and at the sacrum.

7. Frankincense

The oil of truth. It helps support you in discovering how to live out your truth and brings about a great connection to the divine. Apply to the third eye or at the crown of your head.

My assignment for you is to play with each of these oils and find a combination that is effective for you and your journey. There are two ways to do this:

  • Purchase a 5ml rollerball and place 1-5 drops of each your favorite oils from this list, then top it off with fractionated coconut oil.

  • Place 1-2 drops of each oil you choose into your diffuser at home or in your office.

I use both before my morning routine when I spend time in prayer and journaling and it has really helped bring about some new truths I haven’t always carved out time to hear.
