My Top 2 Tools for the Healing the Body in Your Cancer Recovery
Updated: Sep 2, 2020
One of the hardest things people experience in cancer recovery is the physical side effects of your cancer treatment - surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, etc.
There are more side effects than I could address in this single blog post and everyone’s experience is completely different. Cancer treatments are so diverse and even two people receiving the exact same therapy will have completely different experiences.
I have several protocols to help with specific side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, mouth sores, chemo brain (mental fogginess). Yet the one protocol that translates across the board for all of my cancer warriors is addressing a common thread everyone will face with cancer treatment - the impact on your immune system.
This post will specifically address my top tools for boosting your immune system.
Tip #1: Topical Essential Oil Blend
Add the following essential oils in a 10ml rollerball and fill the remaining space with fractionated coconut oil:
5 drops oregano - powerful antioxidants to the body support healthy digestive and respiratory system
5 drops wild orange - supports immune function, a powerful antioxidant
5 drops lemon - cleansing and purifying moving things through the liver
10 drops frankincense - cellular and immune function
10 drops of On Guard - immune-boosting combo
10 drops of melaleuca - potent antimicrobial
Apply this to the bottoms of your feet and over your liver (draw a line with your roller under your rib cage on the right side). Do this twice a day - in the morning and evening.
Tip #2: Movement
Movement has so many powerful healing benefits! As you may or may not know, at AwakenCARE, we don’t say the word “exercise” because of the negative connotations it often carries. Many people associate exercise with workouts that they dread or feel forced to do out of obligation.
Movement should feel like an activity you use to celebrate and honor your body. I have movement menus and tricks that help you incorporate movement into your daily routine without it feeling like torture - send me a message for this tool!
When you find a form of movement you look forward to, it should elevate your heart rate and breathing rate. Is it hard to carry on a normal conversation? That is a good indication that you’re getting the movement your body needs.
Here are a few ways science has proven that movement can boost your immune system:
Increased circulation helps flush out harmful bacteria, viruses, and pathogens, reducing the risk of developing cold, flu, or other illnesses
Increased number of and circulation of white blood cells, which improves antibodies development to target those unwanted invaders
Reduces cortisol levels - high cortisol levels have been linked to an increased risk of developing illness and infection
Make sure you have these tools in your tool kit! You can always reach out through the comments below or through my contact page to get help on the right tools for your recovery needs. Also, on’t forget, at the end of this series I will be sharing a free download for you that will have all the details you need for implementing essential oils into your regimen for recovery!
